The winners were Charlie Hamby and Roger Branham. John Fox and Bob West came in a close second. Thanks to all that participated. Remember that the Bridgestone Ball Fitting will take place on the Driving range from 9:00 until 3:00 May the 8th. This is a great way to learn your club head speed, spin rate, launch angle, and ball speed. The fitting takes about 15 minutes and you can make an appointment. You can determine the ball that best matches your game !! On May 29th Adams Golf will be here for a Demo day. Bruce Rafee will have all of the latest Adams clubs for you to hit on the range, the new CB1 and CB2 irons are in the process of being released and Bruce will have those as well. By the way, Tom Watson plays the new CB1 irons. Please remember to keep the carts on the paths when you get within 30 yards of the greens. Here lately players have been driving to the opposite sides of the greens on #2,#8,#11#17 especially and others as well. There has become a noticeable path worn around these areas. Also carts should remain on the paths all the way on the Par 3’s. Golf carts are a convenience for players, but they can do quite a bit of damage to the course when the privilege is abused. With the stresses of increased play in the summer on the way, it is important to take care of the turf whenever possible. Clubhouse improvements. You might have noticed some improvements around the clubhouse. The deck is getting new carpeting and painting, the air-conditioner got some repairs and maintenance, the curtains upstairs got cleaned and ironed and put back up. Just a few little things, but sometimes the little things go a long way. |
